Shared Outcomes

Kevin Abraham

Shared Outcomes is a charitable programme run by The Institute for Statecraft. We work with young people (aged 14 – 18) from minority communities in areas facing economic and social challenge. Our aim is to increase participants’ life opportunities and support them in fulfilling their potential. We achieve our objectives through offering activities that develop employability skills, provide accredited qualifications and build confidence.

We have a strong track record of delivering impactful and successful activities. Since 2015 we have engaged approximately 390 young people through our activities across the country.

Our Activities include:

Challenge Weekends: two-night trip to an Army base full of fun, challenging activity such as: assault courses, night navigation exercises and camping.

ILM level 2 award in effective team member skills: Two day course where participants learn how to work effectively in a team with trained instructors from the education charity CVQO. The participants gain an award accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award: A chance to enrol in the bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award programme and complete the practice and assessed expeditions for free alongside young people from the Army Cadet Force.

Who do we work with?

We have strong links with the Army and some of our activities, such as our Challenge Weekends, are run by them. We currently work with over ten partner community groups based in Nottingham, Batley, Huddersfield, London, Bristol and Glasgow. We also work with schools in Leicester, Birmingham and Woking.

How are we funded?

We are funded by The Dulverton Trust, The Ellerman Foundation and The Armed Forces Covenant Fund (under their community integration scheme).
